The RM 021 is known for its bold, futuristic design, fulfilling Richard Mille's vision of air and space-inspired watches. Its titanium and LITAL® alloy case makes it strong and lightweight. The case, made of three parts—bezel, caseband, and caseback—takes over 100 hours to machine into its unique shape and flawless finish. The tonneau-shaped curved design and the high-quality anti-reflective sapphire crystal protect the openwork dial, showing the manual winding tourbillon movement. The tourbillon cage on a ceramic endstone enhances accuracy, while the orthorhombic titanium aluminide baseplate adds strength and stability. The vibrating baseplate, inspired by aircraft turbine blades, helps absorb shocks. The power reserve indicator, displayed at 11 o'clock and styled like a fuel gauge, adds to the RM-021’s functionality and visual appeal.
